About MeI started at studying figure drawing at about the age of 12 at The Art Students League of New York. Growing up in New York was an education in itself with all of the museums and street art around me. I remember seeing one of Keith Haring's drawings on a wall on the IRT. I continued studying fine art in college and later I studied graphic design in Oregon to get my AA in graphic design. The school I attended was still teaching us old school graphic design techniques, along with computer skills. I learned about what real registration marks were for, letterpress, and the value of using a pen and paper before looking at a screen. I've worked in a wide variety of workplaces: newspapers doing paste-up, illustrations and covers, as well as working for a dot.com, WebMD, a multi-media company specializing in legal and medical graphics, an ISP and more. I've also been lucky to have had interesting freelance jobs too: logos, packaging, t-shirt design, identity, websites, flyers, and business cards, to name a few. The places I've lived and traveled to have had a lasting impression on the way that I approach art and design. I was born in India and I lived in Asia until I was 5 1/2. I've traveled all over Europe, Mexico, Belize, lived in Israel for about a year and visited a few other places too. Learning about other cultures and how they approach advertising and fine art informs my work. Even traveling cross country taught me that meeting Americans in a small town, or another region can be just as exciting and foreign as going to Timbuktu.
